Summary: Angelique and Sebastian talks about their relationship.
Angelique woke up and rubbed her eye. She sat up when she recognized familiar bed sheets and instantly groaned. She knew taking that last shot of Ice Demon Vodka was a bad idea. Of course, Olivia and Karin thought it was a good idea, but she have known better. Nothing good came out of that drink, no matter how good it felt. Angelique moved to get out of bed. She stopped at the voice in the doorway.
“Good morning Angel,”
“Good morning Sebastian,”
“Hmm, why the biting tone?” Sebastian walked over and took a seat on the bed. He wrapped his arms around her waist.
“Because last night was a mistake and you know it,” Angelique stiffened in his arms. She started to relax with the kisses against her neck.
“You didn’t say that the night before and the night before that one.” Sebastian sucked on the sensitive spot behind her ear.
Angelique moaned softly and leaned into the touch. She half heartedly pulled away and tried to glare at him. “You know our cycle. I don’t even know why we continue to meet like this.”
Sebastian stopped his kisses and looked in her eyes. “You know why,”
Angelique swallowed at the heated look in his eyes. She looked at the wall. “N-No I don’t,”
“Yes, you do. You know that no matter how hard we pull away from each other we always come back.”
“Why? Surely there are others out there who can--”
“No, it’s not. Think of the people we tried to date after our “away” period, we ended up spending more time with each other than we did our “dates”.”
“I know, but we always make the same mistakes around each other.” Angelique looked at her hands.
Sebastian tipped her head up and placed a soft kiss on her lips. “We did hurt each other, that is true, but we haven’t destroyed what we have. We’re working through this and I know there’s a future with us. You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t feel the same, right?”
Angelique nodded her deep resolve melting at his words. “You’re right. I must not hate you as much as I thought. If I did, I would ice you faster than an Ice Demon.” She giggled and linked their fingers together. “I do feel it every time we’re together.”
Sebastian nuzzled her neck. “I do too.” He smiled. “So, do you want breakfast or do you want a shower?”
“Shower, first then breakfast.”
“Sounds good,” Sebastian picked Angelique up, laughing when she playfully tapped him. “Hey you!”
“What? I can’t carry an angel to the shower?” Sebastian grinned on his way to the bathroom.
“You’re so funny.” Angelique kissed his cheek and leaned against him. She smiled when he kissed her hair.
There were some things to work on and some past hurts to work through, but they could do it. Angelique didn’t want to admit it, but she never wanted to give up on them. It was good that Sebastian felt the same way. It was a small step, but still a step. She could continue to fight the good fight with Sebastian along the way.
